Course objectives
The goal of this subject is to provide the student with understanding of thy physiology and physiology of exercise and sport. Exercise Physiology is intended for students of physical education, atheltic training, etc. In practical lessons is including work tests.
Syllabus
  • Theme of Lessons: Physiology of cell . Structure and function of skeletal muscle, skeletal muscle and exercise.
  • Structure and function of the nervous system. Neuromuscular adaptation to training.
  • Metabolism, energy, and basic energy systems.Metabolic adaptation to training.
  • Endocrine glans and their hormones. Hormonal response and adaptation to exercise.
  • Structure and function of the cardiovascular system, cardiovascular response and adaptation to exercise.
  • Scructure and function respiratory system, respiratory response and adaptation to excercise.
  • Termoregulation, responses and acclimatization to exercise in hot and cold environments.
  • Exercise in hypobaric and hyperbaric environments.
  • Children and adolescents in sport and exercise.
  • Aging in sport and exercise. Sex diferences in sport and exercise. Theme of Lessons (seminars):
  • Antropology, Somatotyp
  • Energetic expenditure, basal metabolism
  • Measuring of Heart Rate in rest and stress test, HRV
  • Measuring of Blood Presure in rest and stress test, Cardiac Output,ECG
  • Spirometry
  • Testing of Anaerobic and Aerobic Ability (W170)
  • Measuring and determination of Anaerobic Threshold (ANT)
  • Spiroergometry (Measuring of aerobic capacity, determine of maximum oxygen uptake)
Assessment methods
Lectures and seminars. This subject is finished by oral exam (for english speaking studnets is written test). The student have to elaborate protocols of practical seminars.
