- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
-manage theoretically the basic psychological approaches to health in relation to the paradigm of harmonic balance of personality
-learn and practically apply and recommend particular coping strategies
-increase their frustration tolerance in the area of sports movement activities - Syllabus
- 1.Objectives of health psychology, historical development, definitions (illness, health, philosophical aspects of health).
- 2.Mental hygiene - definition, healthy lifestyle, quality of life.
- 3.Mental health
- 4.Health and emotionality - frustration, deprivation, neuroses.
- 5.Stress and its impact on health.
- 6.Coping strategies - assertiveness, time management, social support.
- 7.Burnout syndrome - risk factors, stages of burnout, consequences.
- 8.Health-impairing behaviour - alcoholism, smoking, drugs, doping, gambling, eating disorders, social pathology, aggressiveness, bullying.
- 9.Sport and physical activities as a form of psychoprophylaxis.
- 10.Health promotion programs.
