Course objectives
The objective of the course is to gain understanding of kinesiological relationships on the local and global levels and to build theoretical foundations for the practical application of diagnostic and therapeutic methods in the courses Locomotor System Disorder Diagnostics and Therapy I-IV. The course builds up on the knowledge of the anatomy of locomotor system, motion control and biomechanical relations obtained in the courses, respectively, Anatomy, Kinesiology and Neurophysiology and Biomechanics. This course presents the functional aspects of the anatomical structure of the locomotor system. It focuses on the function of the individual motor segments on the local and global level, defines the factors of active and passive stability and provides information about the clinical aspects of functional and structural pathology.
Syllabus
  • • Kinesiology of axial system—motion segment • Motion system components • Axial systém kinematics • Curvature of spine, axial system sections • Cervical spine • Thoracic spine • Lumbar spine • Kinesiology of thorax and abdominal wall
