Course objectives
The aim is to acquire basic information about an issue of particular fields of special education, including current trends in education of people with special educational needs. Students will gain knowledge about an issue of integration and opportunities of people with disabilities in the professional life, improving the quality of life of persons with special needs. After graduating of subject student acquire skills and professional competence to create appropriate recommendations for improving the quality of life of people with special needs.
Syllabus
  • Special education - concept, subject, aims, interdisciplinary relations, classification of industry terminology. The concepts of integration and inclusion. • Diagnostics and pedagogical-psychological counseling system. • People with physically disabilities - characteristics, classification, etiology, treatment options, education, DMO, LMD. • People with mentally disabilities- characteristics, classification according to WHO, etiology, education, Down syndrome, dementia, pseudooligofrenie. • PAS- characteristics, etiology, treatment options, educational opportunities. Suitable exercises. • People with visually impairement - characteristics, classification, etiology, treatment options, educational opportunities. • People with hearing impairment - characteristics, classification, etiology, education possibilities prosthetics. • Disturbed communication ability - characteristics, classification, etiology, rehabilitation, support. • Alternative and augmentative communication - characteristics, separate systems. • Learning dificulties - characteristics, classification, etiology, rehabilitation, possibilities of education. • Behaviour disorders - characteristics, classification, possibilities of redress devices. • Therapy in the special pedagogical care - animal assisted therapy, hippotherapy.   The seminars will practice different topics based on lectures by demonstrating students.

85% active participation on seminars • On the basis of case studies prepared to developing recommendations for active leisure time, evaluated scale A - F • Verification of knowledge written test (a combination of open and closed questions in the number 25) score on a scale from A - F test, the minimum number of points out of 50 (possible 75)
