- Course objectives
- The successful graduate of the examination will be able
to explain essential findings about influence of the sedentary lifestyle on genesis and prevalence of the most important chronic non-infectious diseases ( atherosclerotic and cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity, certain oncogenous diseases, osteoporosis, etc.) which dominate in term of mortality and morbidity across the world and have enormous social and economic consequences; to effectively argue that optimization of movement behavior is only primary and secondary preventive measure decreasing high prevalence these chronic diseases; to apply information on interaction between heredity and lifestyle, adaptation of various systems to regular physical activity, and some signs of insufficient physical activity; to apply basic principles of prescription of the effective intervention programs concerning especially physical activity a nutrition; to explicate the most frequent pathologic events associated with physical activity a sports. - Syllabus

- Various symptoms of insufficient physical activity
- View of biological effects of regular physical activities
- Basic principles of prescription of exercise program and sports training – border parts; aerobic exercise; intensity; duration; frequency; size
- Long-term adherence to the exercise program
- The most frequent cyclic aerobic physical activities
- Resistance exercise and sport training
- Acyclic sports activities
- Balance exercise program
- Assessment of exercise effects by means of “health points”
- Physical activity and sports training in terms of prevention and therapy – obesity; diabetes mellitus; atherosclerosis; cardiovascular diseases and their complications; hypertension; chronic respiratory diseases; oncological diseases; osteoporosis, vertebrogenic algic syndrome; stroke
