Course objectives
The aim of the course is to gain theoretical knowledge on taxonomy, biomechanical structure of preparatory combatives and practical skills, especially falling techniques.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students schould be able to: - understand and explain the combatives taxonomy - define biomechanical structure of preparatory combatives - explain the influence of basic combatives on development of motor abilities - understand and explain principles of creating exercises - understand and explain principles of falling techniques - demonstrate at minimum 8 basic combative exercises for development selected motor ability - show 9 basic falling techniques to all directions - show 3 advanced falling techniques - execute all falling techniques with flight phase - execute falling techniques across adequately high barrier - is physically prepared to apply falling techniques

  • 1. Introduction to preparatory combatives a) characteristic of combatives b) taxonomy of combatives c) function of combatives in school physical education 2. Basic combative techniques a) contact estabilishment b) changing position c) transitions d) hand and arm movements e) leg movements f) lifting, carrying and dropping of a live load (partner) g) falling techniques (principles, psychology, tactics, biomechanics) 3. Basic combatives a) centrifugal (pulls) b) centripedal (pushes) c) opposition (resistence) 4. Combative games as a manner of basic combatives practice Use of equipment in combative games. 5. Basics of combative sports Armwrestling and Tug of war. 6. Use of equipment in combative games 7. Taxonomy of falling technique 8. Physical basis of falling technique 9. Biomechanics of falling technique 10. Basic falling techniques 11. Advanced of falling techniques 12. Falling techniques across barrier with flight phase

Practical test: advanced falling techniques 4. Seminar work: independent formulation of list of exercises for selected combative system
