- Course objectives
- The main aim of the course is to introduce scientifically based standards and knowledge on exercise testing and prescription. Another aim is to teach the student summary of recommended instructions for exercise testing and exercise prescription in healthy person but also to group of people with chronic diseases or disabilities.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course the student is able to:
1. Define general principles and benefits of exercise testing
2. List the indications and contraindications of exercise testing
3. List the health benefits which are connected to regularly exercise
4. Define and proper choose the correct way for improving of components of exercise prescription (Type of exercise or activity, Specific workloads, Duration and frequency of the activity or exercise session, Intensity guidelines)
5. Define the quantity and quality of exercise for developing and maintaining cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness, and flexibility in healthy athletes
6. Prepare or modify the exercise programme according to individual's habitual physical activity, physical function, health status, exercise responses, and stated goals
7. Set up the training programme according to the physiological variables
8. Understand of exercise limitation of respiratory, cardiovascular origin from impairment
