- Course objectives
- The major aims of the subject are: to provide to students some basic philosophical and sociological backgrounds for the complex approach to sport. Sport is presented as a social-cultural phenomenon reflecting the dynamics of changes in the world of values within interests and activities of the mankind. Philosophy of sport presents a major platform of thinking, sociology of sport faces the task to describe and explain socially and culturally conditioned position of sport in modern society. Main objective of the lesson is to properly understand mutual relations of sport and society in local, regional and global context.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to:
explicate main topics of philosophy of sport;
distinguish basic foundations of different philosophical and sociological approaches in the field of sport;
compare contibution of specific conceptions of philosophy and sociology of sport;
give reasons for his own conviction in sport problems in th ebroad social context;
build his own attitude towards human and his movement activity (physical exercises) in culture; - Syllabus
