Prerequisites
BOZP_OK(bozp_po_stud) && BOZP_OK(bozp_po_stud_fsps)
The student has successfully completed undergraduate degree in Sports Management and was admitted to the N Mgr same field. Has sufficient knowledge especially in the field of management, marketing, mathematics and statistics, which can be applied in the preparation and creation of the seminar thesis.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepen and expand the theoretical and practical knowledge about the European Union in relation to sport and the Czech sporting environment.
Learning outcomes
Describe the basic principles on which the European Union stands and operates;
Discuss in the historical context the development of European integration;
explain the EU institutions' status and political decision-making;
orientate themselves in EU legal norms in relation to their legal force in relation to the rules of sports associations;
Apply some important precedents of the European Court of Justice in relation to sport;
Explain the basic principles of the European Sports Charter;
Explain the general themes of strategic documents contained in the EU White Paper on Sport
Discuss the position of the most important sports organizations in Europe;

  • Definition of sport, physical education, physical culture in the EU and the Czech legislation;
  • Historical context of European development, integration phase;
  • Framework outline the functioning of European institutions, powers, aspects political influence;
  • The EU legal framework, EU standards, regulations of sports associations, the case European Court of Justice;
  • The European Charter for sport and protection of human rights principles;
  • White Paper on Sport and EU strategic documents;
  • Definition of State aid to the sport in the CR;
  • Significant and influential sports organizations in the EU;

Assessment methods
Two written tests at least 60 % of the correct answer in each test, the final test score on evalution of exam is 30 %;
Seminar thesis on the given topic 20-25 pages, the share of work on the final evaluation is 40 %;
Power point presentation at the end of the semester, share a presentation on the final assessment is 10 %;
Participation and activity at seminars, share in the final evaluation is 10 %;
Oral exam, share in the final evaluation is 10 %;
For successful completion must be to reach at least 60 % of a possible 100 %;
