- Course objectives
- The course is designed to provide students with basic knowledge in physical therapy disciplines,and physiotherapy related topics while successfully mastering reading comprehension and oral as well as written reproduction in English. At the end of the course the students are required to have reached the level B1+ of CEF.
- Learning outcomes
- Graduates of this course will acquire basic command of professional terminology in physiotherapy, health, anatomy and various medical and medicine related disciplines. By the end of the course students will be able to effectively deliver presentations in English. In addition, students will gain better command of professionally relevant grammatical phenomena, where the improvement of mainly reproductive communication skills (proper pronunciation, correct spelling, apt use of stylistic registers in written communication and acquisition of basic lexical knowledge) will be emphasized and their eventual mastery expected.

- Language seminar: speaking,reading, listening, writing
- Assessment methods
- The course is taught in the form of seminars. Students will find topics for each week in the interactive syllabus section ("interaktivní osnova"), and prepare them for the following classes. The items: U3 etc. indicate the number of a unit in the above grammar textbook. The course is completed by an academic presentation on a chosen physiotherapy related topic delivered by each student and by a credit test. After a proper registration, class-attendance becomes compulsory, 2 missed attendances are accepted.
