Prerequisites

Students must have a valid UEFA B licence and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a coaching role in football.

Course objectives
To introduce students to the key principles and concepts of coaching. Provide the foundations of theoretical knowledge needed to work as a coach.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - define the key concepts and principles of coaching; - explain the basic methodologies of training; - analyze basic tactics and game principles.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to coaching: The roles and responsibilities of a coach.
  • Basic principles of coaching: Physical, technical, tactical and psychological preparation.
  • Football playing principles and basic tactics.
  • Communication and player motivation.
  • Ethics and fair play in football.
