Course objectives
The main goals of the educational process involve: - the improvement of the locomotive abilities and fitness - the impact on the positive approach towards sports activities considered as the protection against conflicts, civilisation diseases and stress - the support of students healthy lifestyle.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able: - Orientate oneself in the terrain - Work with a map - to cultivate a positive relationship to nature - explore Brno and its surroundings or Jeseníky mountains (depends on sem.group)
Syllabus
  • The schedule of the course: - completing 3 full-day trips according to the plan and schedule of each seminar group. In the case of participation in the Ostružná (Jeseníky) sem. group, it is a 3-day tour in the dates 25.-27.10.(fri-sun) and the price is 1792 CZK (2 nights + half board). The total sum of hikes in the mountain terrain is approx. 45-50 km depending on the weather, therefore at least a slightly advanced level of fitness is recommended, or it is more appropriate to register seminar groups in surroundings of Brno. Own transport (usually by train).
  • - information on the approximate timetable and location of the trips is given in a note to the seminar group in the IS The programme, dates and time and the meeting point will be send to all participants by common email or to IS about one week in advance.
  • - trips take place in any weather, they are usually shortened in case of bad weather
  • - when the class need to be cancelled (teacher illness, other events), compensation is possible with a trip documented with the Strava application

Assessment methods
Credit is given for attendance, in the case of 3 hiking routes, 100% participation is required. In exceptional cases, a replacement with another seminar group is possible after prior email agreement with the teachers of both seminar groups.
