- Course objectives
- The objective of the course is to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of nutrition and its impact on human health. Students will become familiar with current nutritional recommendations for the general healthy population as well as for individuals with increased physical activity. The course will focus on the fundamental components of nutrition, their significance, sources, dosage, and physiological effects on the body. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the role of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle in health promotion and disease prevention. The course will also address the health aspects of sports nutrition and the importance of proper hydration.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
-understand basic nutrition terminology, differences in recommendations for different groups and the framework of nutrition recommendations;
-explain the importance of nutrition to the human body;
-identify problems caused by inadequate or inappropriate nutrition in an active population;
-recognise the specific needs of the sporting population;
-know the recommendations for drinking patterns;
-understand the health aspects of general and sports nutrition. - Syllabus

- Teaching methods
- The theoretical framework of the training will be implemented in the form of an online lecture.
This will be followed by a practical session on history taking, identification of dietary habits, dietary analysis using nutritional software, dietary assessment in the context of nutritional recommendations, assessment of energy balance and consideration of the needs of the sporting population.
The seminar will use the following teaching methods:
-Project activity;
-Group work;

Completion of the online test (20 questions, 20 minutes, only one correct answer each time, no points deducted for wrong answers, minimum score is 15 including, learners have 5 attempts to complete the test). - Language of instruction
