- Course objectives
- The main aim of the course is to introduce students to contemporary approaches studying human achievement – theories of abilities and giftedness, development of experts and deliberate practice, and achievement motivation. On this ground, students will create a project, an analysis of achievement oriented discipline, group or individual from the point of view of these categories and formulate recommendations of possible improvement. After completing the course, students should be able to analyze achievement motivation of individuals and motivational climate in groups and formulate recommendations for possible improvement.

- Theories of giftedness - development of the concept and its foundations, contemporary approaches, implications for achievement development. Theories of development of experts and theory of deliberate practice – development of the concept, implications for achievement development. Theory of achievement motivation - development of the concept, implications for achievement development. Perceived self-efficacy, attributions, implicit theories of abilities, goal orientations. Preparation and design of student projects.
