- Course objectives
- The course is designed to provide students with basic knowledge in disciplines related to sports nutrition and regeneration while successfully mastering reading comprehension and oral as well as written reproduction in English. At the end of the course the students are required to have reached the level B1+ of CEF. Graduates of this course will acquire basic command of professional terminology in nutrition, health, anatomy, and physiotherapy. In addition, students will gain better command of professionally relevant grammatical phenomena, where the improvement of mainly reproductive communication skills (proper pronunciation, correct spelling, apt use of stylistic registers in written communication and acquisition of basic lexical knowledge) will be emphasized and their eventual mastery expected.

Academic Skills: Presentation 2nd week: Benefits of Exercise 3rd week: Injuries in Sport, Listening skills 4th week: Nutrition - an introduction, Revision of tenses 5th week: Sports Nutrition I, Passive Voice 6th week: Sports Nutrition II 7th week: Diet and Age, Grammar: Questions 8th week: Obesity, Modals 9th week: Diet and Myths, Conditional I and II 10th week: Living Longer 11th week: Food Pyramid. - Assessment methods
- The course is taught in the form of seminars. Students will find topics for each week in the interactive syllabus section ("interaktivní osnova"), and prepare them for the following classes. The items: U3 etc. indicate the number of a unit in the above grammar textbook. The course is completed by a multiple-choice credit test (A,B,C,D) focused both on grammar and vocabulary. After a proper registration, class-attendance becomes compulsory, 1 missed attendance is accepted.
