- The main goals of the educational process involve: - mastery of basic and advanced skills of mountain biking in the terrain - development of motoric skills, physical performance and endurance - positive effect on students' attitude to sports activities - promoting a healthy lifestyle of students
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the students will be able: to apply the correct cycling techniques and safe cycling rules both in traffic and outdoors to find the proper bicycle saddle height and setback to carry out basic mountain bike maintenance to apply the basic principles of orientation when cycling outdoors
- Syllabus
- Practical exercises: - warm-up - all-day and half-day trip in the surroundings of Brno - improving the students' bike riding techniques (mainly in the terrain) - techniques of biking (riding on flat surfaces, uphill, downhill, through a technically challenging terrain) - riding in a group and communicating while biking in a group - development of endurance capacity - orientation in the terrain - basic bike maintenance tasks - stretching and relaxation after a bike ride Theoretical exercises: - setting the seat position - basic bike control and basic maintenance tasks on a bike - the safety of biking - individual safety and safety in a group ride - new trends, materials, and technologies - using a map and an planning an itinerary - basics of first aid

- Credit requirements: participation in the lessons. Students have to take part in three half or all-day biking trips per semester (or make up for absences in the examination period).

Classes take place in blocks in the months of March - June, approximately once every 14 days, depending on the current weather conditions. The teaching of the subject p918 is provided by the Support centre for students with specific needs.
