Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to understand the philosophy of body in the context of corporeality, to meet the philosophical aspects of the relation of modern society to sports and to specify a possible philosophical frame of some selected parts of the dissertation.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to react on the basic philosopical problems of physical culture. They will be able to put some parts of the dissertation in the philosophical context.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to the narrower approach to the topic of philosophical kinanthropology (sphere of interests, the most prominent contemporary world and Czech representatives, the most significant organizations and events, professional journals and monographs).
  • Philosophical kinanthropology, socio-cultural kinanthropology and other related disciplines.
  • Body, corporeality and human movement.
  • Faust’s question in the world of sport.
  • Recreology, non-performance-focused sphere of movement and its philosophical anchoring.
  • Arete, kalokagathia, Olympism.
  • Spirituality of movement.
  • Ethical aspects of sport and movement.
  • Other philosophical aspects of the contemporary society within its relationship to sport and movement.
  • Philosophical framework of dissertation and possible approaches to it.
