- The main goals of the educational process involve: - mastery of basic and advanced skills of handycycles - development of motoric skills, physical performance and endurance - positive effect on students' attitude to sports activities - promoting a healthy lifestyle of students
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the students will be able to: use the correct handbike cycling techniques and obey the safety rules use correctly the terms and concepts connected with handbike cycling find the proper saddle height and setback on a handbike
- Syllabus
- Practical exercises: - introduction into operating the handcycle - warm-up - half-day or all-day trip in the surroundings of Brno - improving the students' handbike riding techniques - techniques of handycycling(riding on flat surfaces, uphill, downhill, through a technically challenging terrain) - development of endurance capacity - basic handbike maintenance tasks - stretching and relaxation after a handycycle ride Theoretical exercises: - setting the seat position on handycycle - basic bike control and basic maintenance tasks on a handycycle - the safety of handycycling - individual safety and safety in a group ride - new trends, materials, and technologies - using a map and an planning an itinerary - basics of first aid

- Practical exercises and theoretical grounding.
- Assessment methods
- Credit requirements: participation in the lessons. Students have to take part in five half-day or all-day handbike trips per semester (or make up for absences in the examination period). Weekly instruction in the form of 2-3 lessons per week is also possible

For further information on PE courses refer to www.fsps.muni.cz. Handbikes and bicycle helmets are for rent. Lessons take place in blocks in the months of March - June approximately once every 14 days, depending on the current weather conditions, or in the form of regular lessons and shorter trips. Individual agreement. This subject was introduced into teaching as part of the "Network of expert workplaces to ensure inclusion in tertiary education" project. This project is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic. The teaching of the subject p915 is provided by the Support centre for students with specific needs.
