Course objectives
Students of Sports Management should be aware of the importance of team skills as a necessary aspect of team work.
The objective of this course is to introduce the students into the field of team skills, team roles, team goals and team characteristics. Students will also understand additional topics, such as effective communication and cooperation, providing feedback and evaluation. Group dynamics phases and team motivation will be covered as well. The topics will be presented through practical activites and games, with necessary theoretical background.
Learning outcomes
After completion of this course students will be able to:
-name and describe basic team skills (communication, cooperation, flexibility, presentation of ideas, feedback and evaluation, creativity)
-define team structure, team goals, team roles and important aspects of an effective team cooperation
-describe group dynamics phases and manage a team/group accordingly
-analyse their status within the study group, from the point of view of team roles, communication or cooperation level (based on practical activities and exercises)
-apply the acquired knowledge and skills in a working, sports or other team
