Course objectives
To acquaint students with basic examination methods in internal medicine and internal diseases.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- have a basic overview of diseases of internal medicine;
- to describe the examination methods of the individual branches of internal medicine;
- be able to provide first aid;
- understand the connection and links between rehabilitation and medical interventions;
- apply physiotherapy as part of the treatment of diseases across the fields of internal medicine;
- design physiotherapy for patients with diseases related to internal medicine;
- propose an individual physiotherapy plan for a specific patient being treated at an internal clinic.
Syllabus
  • 01. Gastroenterology, examination methods, diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, non-specific intestinal inflammations, diseases of the large intestine, diseases of the pancreas.
  • 02. Hepatology - liver disease, examination methods, liver failure, ascites, acute and chronic hepatitis, gallbladder and biliary tract diseases.
  • 03. Nephrology, examination methods, nephrotic syndrome, tubulointerstitial nephritis, urolithiasis, acute and chronic renal failure.
  • 04. Endocrinology, thyroid, parathyroid disorders, adrenal cortex diseases, adrenal medulla.
  • 05. Diabetes mellitus, obesity, dyslipidemia.
  • 06. Rheumatology - Gout, infectious arthritis, spondylartritis, osteoarthritis.
