Course objectives
After completing this course, the student will be more oriented in the area of disability and social and vocational rehabilitation of people with severe illness. Over the course student will acquire essential information for understanding the social situation of a person with severe mental illness. Student will be more oriented in the social welfare system and will be able to provide basic guidance in this area. Student will gain an overview of the basic procedures within ergodiagnostics and vocational rehabilitation.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- in the field of coordinated rehabilitation of people with severe disabilities;
- in rehabilitation and long-term care concepts;
- social issues with outputs necessary for physiotherapist;
- in the field of retraining and resocialization;
- in the issue of pension insurance.
Syllabus
  • 01. Theory, models and typology of disability.
  • 02. Concepts of rehabilitation and long-term care:
  • - social functioning;
  • - disability;
  • - the concept of rehabilitation;
  • - the concept of long-term care.
  • 03. Social rehabilitation:
  • - position of social work in the system of comprehensive rehabilitation
  • - objectives and means;
  • - basic social legislation;
  • - organization of state social care;
  • - social services for clients with disabilities.
  • 04. Occupational rehabilitation:
  • - objectives and means;
  • - issues of preparation for occupational rehabilitation;
  • - ergodiagnostic examination;
  • - health assessment;
  • - inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce;
  • 05. Retraining:
  • - optimizing working conditions for the disabled;
  • - analysis of workplaces and work activities;
  • - assessment aspects of musculoskeletal diseases.
  • 06. International classification of functional abilities, disability and health.
  • 07. Problems of pension solution:
  • - social protection system;
  • - State social support benefits;
  • - welfare benefits;
  • - pension insurance benefits;
  • - Social Services;
  • - employment policy.
