- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide general overview of the armament policy problematic. Students should be able to explain and to understand three main topics: 1. armament of armed forces, 2. defense industry of the Czech Republic and world wide, 3. defense material trade and its regulation.
- Learning outcomes
- Knowledge of the most important phenomenon in fields of arms policy, defense industry and defense material trade and its regulation. Students should be able to analyze a particular issue within above mentioned fields connected to the Czech or Slovak Republic.

- 1. Introduction, 2. Armament policy definition, 3. Defense industry (general aspects), 4. Arms export (general aspects), 5. Armed forces armament, 6. Arms reduction, 7. EU armament policy, 8. NATO armament policy, 9. Czech Republic defense industry, 10. Czech armed forces armament, 11. Seminar thesis assessment, 12. Czech Republic arms export and NGO’s activities, 13. Written examination

- Each week: lectures, class discussions. Students can obtain 36 points total. They will receive a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components: 0-20 points for seminary thesis; 40 points final written exam. Grading: A; 60 - 56 points B; 55 – 51 C; 50 – 46 D; 45 – 41 E; 40 – 36 F; less than 35 points
