- Cíle předmětu
- The course introduces students to a range of content analysis methods that are applicable in the fields of international relations and energy policy. This elective course is designed for Master's students who aim to broaden their array of research methods or seek an appropriate methodological approach for their Master's thesis.
- Výstupy z učení
- The course has two primary outcomes. Firstly, students will develop a passive understanding of the approach, enabling them to comprehend works that utilize qualitative and/or quantitative content analysis. Secondly, students will acquire the skill to formulate pertinent research questions using specific methods and to independently initiate practical research. This foundation will empower students to potentially build their own research designs upon it.
- Osnova

- 1) Nature of the content-analytic approach
- 2) Text data acquisition, collection and management
- 3) Data preparation and cleaning
- 4) Coding as a method of rich text reduction

- 6) Quantitative content analysis and machine-based methods of analysis

- Teaching at FSS MU assumes that students are familiar with the study regulations and are committed to upholding academic integrity. This includes refraining from fraudulent activities such as copying during exams and engaging in plagiarism—presenting others' ideas as one's own or using other authors' work without proper attribution. Plagiarism stands as a grave ethical offense within academia, contradicting the core values of the university and the pursuit of knowledge. From a legal perspective, plagiarism is tantamount to the theft of intellectual property. At FSS MU, any form of academic misconduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Instances of such behavior will result into immediate and unconditional failure of the course and will also be submitted to the Disciplinary Committee of the Faculty of Social Studies. Students are strongly advised to thoroughly acquaint themselves with the concept of plagiarism and actively seek strategies to prevent its occurrence.
