- At the end of the course students should be able to:
- critically analyze various theoretical approaches to gender, sex and sexuality;
- analyze the aspects of gender, sex and sexuality in social reality;
- assess specific examples of gender, sex and sexuality using theoretical background.
The course introduces students to the core sociological concepts of gender, sex and sexuality. The students will get an overview of the interpretative, psychoanalytic, poststructuralist, biological and deconstructivist theories and in the form of selected readings they will exercise their ability of critical thought and discussion over those readings and in their own essays. - Syllabus
