- Course objectives
- The course examines concepts of social and economic inequality, social class, gender, ethnicity. The course introduces their empirical indications and their impact on the forms of social structures in contemporary Czech Republic and countries of western Europe.
- Learning outcomes
- - to summarise the history of social stratification research - to indicate the basic dimensions of social and economic inequalities - to apply social stratification variables in explanation of social phenomena - to understand social stratification as the basic phenomenon of modern societies
