- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is the following - to acquainte students with the basic terms of general zoology, basic information on othology, zoogeography a origin of the fauna of the Central Europe. At the end of the course students should be able to
understand and explain principles of evolution and its classification and its basic rules.
A substantial part of the course is represented by the review of the zoological classification with respect to the species of economic, cultural or conservation importance. - Syllabus
- 1. Morfology, reproduction, ontogenesis.
- 2. Zoogeography, European fauny in the post-glacial period.
- 3. Ethologye a domestication - behaviour types, instincts, phasis of domestication.
- 4. Zoological systematics - system categories, classification theories.
- 5. Invertebrates.
- 6. Molluscs - characteristics, main species.
- 7. Ring worms - characteristics, main species.
- 8. Arthropods - Crustaceans - characteristics, main species.
- 9. Arthropods - Tracheata - characteristics, main species.
- 10. Chordates - fish, amphibians, reptile - characteristics, main species.
- 11. Birds - characteristics, main species.
- 12. Mammals - characteristics, main species.
