- Course objectives
- The course is focused on the topic of security policy building in Europe with the emphasis on developments in the 1990s within the framework of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance and the anticipated trends in short and medium term.
On successful completion of the course, students shall be able to analyze the topic of European security and defence policy, to compare the attitudes of European countries and actors of the world politics towards the ESDP, to judge the deficits in the field of European military capabilities, to formulate current trends in the field of the European security and defence policy and to apply theoretical knowledge on particular peace support operations. - Syllabus

- Teaching methods
- Lectures involve class discussions and require active participation of students. Seminar papers aims to improve the ability of students to analyze issues of European security and defence identity and to work with primary and secondary sources. Readings serve to broaden and deepen the spectrum of knowledge students acquire during lectures. Presentations serve to improve the ability to work with data and to improve presentation skills of students.
- Assessment methods
- The examination will be passed based on the seminar paper, presentation and the written test. To pass the examination, it is to be achieved at least 60 per cent of the written test.
