Prerequisites
Knowledge preconditions for the completion of the course is the students orientation in the field of applied psychology, interpersonal relations, the topic of health disability, social work in the micro dimension and work with people in the field counselling services.

Course objectives
The main objectives of the course include: - Understanding the place and importance of consulting work in the context of social work; - The understanding of theoretical and practical background consultancy works with people with disabilities; - Mastery of basic skills in meeting clients and the principles of good practice approaches and in communicating with people with disabilities in the advisory practice; - The acquisition of competencies in the orientation and tasks of various advisory bodies; - Awareness of the timerelation, methodological and personal aspects advisory work.
Syllabus
  • Thesis of course: - Organization of teaching guidelines for studies and clasure rate. - Fundamental terms (illnes –disorder – impairment – handicap etc.) and their personal and social dimension. The Comparison of terminology. - Counselling as a service eliminating handicap, disadvantaged and social exclusion. Counselling in the social services system and in the field of rehabilitation and readaptation persons with disability. - Basic principles of consultancy services, types and ways of delivering services (information for / advice, guidance, longtime support, defend - representation - mediation, transmission, acute intervention, etc.). Primary - secondary - tertiary prevention in the advice. - Personality of the advisory worker - expertise, human maturity, communicability, the ability of empathy and authenticity, the impact of identity, value orientation and experience,soft skills etc. - Methodology labor consultant (contact, arranging meetings prevent misunderstandings, the legal and other standards into the language of the client, referring to another institution, feedback, monitoring, interaction and accompanying client further development, close cooperation with client family). The issue of functional illiteracy. - Special aspects of consultancy services skills (client and work with him) - client with physical, sensory (visual, hearing), speech or communication and mental disabilities; clients with psychotic disorders (psychiatric patients), old people seniuors), caring family. - More specific situation in the consultancy work - communication and support the adoption of bad news, arduous client (aggression, secrecy, manipulative etc.). Advisory trap. -Inter-communication and cooperation in advice. Types of advisory services in helping professions: Social work, counseling as an integral part of various social services, social and legal counseling; Citizens Advice; Education; Special education; Social pedagogy; State administration, the labor market, justice, health etc.; NGOs and self-help organizations, peer counseling; Internet consultancy. Crisis intervention and PCI. - Methodology processing consultancy kasuistiky. Examples of the practice.

Assessment methods
Form of teaching in the course: Full-time lectures and tutorials seminars, e-mail consultations and self-controlled studying. Ending the course: The test has two parts: The first part consists of the processing of thematic work and the second part will take place through oral tests.
