- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to acquire skills for critical analysis of texts and the creation and presentation of scientific texts.
Partial objectives of the course is to improve the following skills: - To distinguish between different types of texts according to purpose and content
- Identify the main idea of the text
- Analyze the bases, assumptions and attitudes of the author
- Evaluate the quality of argumentation of the author
- Assess which topic is professionally important, insufficiently described but achievable to the author
- Construct text based on the specific plan with clearly formulated main idea
- Look for resources in different types of databases and on-line catalogs
- Cite sources properly and according to the academic norms
- Collect relevant information from various sources and use them in a search
- Understand the process of drafting the wording of the questions to the final version of the manuscript
- Get inspire by support systems for reading and writing texts
- Concisely present work outputs

- Teaching methods
- In this course we will mainly work actively with & nbsp; specific texts and directly practice individual skills. Practical exercises will be combined with the & nbsp; interpretation of the relevant information.
- Assessment methods
- Students will during the course work on specific tasks related to their topic related to their topic of academic text. The evaluation will be assessed by a combination of work in lessons (active participation in the solved exercises) and evaluation of submissions.
Conditions for completion of the course:
Active participation in seminars, submission of interim and final task according to specified criteria.
Maximum possible points gained: 60 Minimum number of points needed to pass: 30
Active participation in lessons: 0-5 points
Completion of the course ENS 267: 5 points
