- The course is addressed to students of the master's degree program (especially the first year), who are expected to have basic knowledge in the field of qualitative and quantitative research.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is a) to give students the knowledge of the established and current topics, analytical concepts and procedures used in journalisms content research b) to involve students in a basic application of this knowledge in their own research projects (eg. diploma thesis, research paper).
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- list basic analytical approaches and types of analysis used in research of news and current affairs content;
- to select and design appropriate research design for the needs of news content analysis;
- to gather relevant news and current affairs stories and to create a sample for her or his own analysis;
-conceptualize the research problem and operationalize the analytical concepts that will be observed in the news content of students choice;
- apply the discussed analytical approaches and types of analyzes in the analysis of news/editorial content of his / her choice;
- to present the results of own research activity in the form of an oral presentation and in writing, in the form of a research project proposal or research report from a pilot study. - Syllabus

- 4th week (October 10): Presentations of students' analyses I

- 8th Week (November 7): Analysis of objectivity and its violation I

METHOD OF EVALUATION
The final grade is based on the sum of the points obtained in the intermediate tasks (0-145 points) and the points obtained for the final paper (0-50 points).
