Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide basic information and practical examples on project management and writing of project application.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student:
- will able to design and process a grant application (project intent and description, wbs, budget, timetable);
- will be able to orientate in concepts needed for project management (project communication, time management, risks management, team coordination, stakeholders). - able to recognize the importance of each part of the project application, identify the key content items of the project application
- have the ability to coordinate the team when preparing the project application
Syllabus
  • Course content are aspects of project management and project / grant application writing in the context of NGOs. The lesson contains a theoretical part as well as a practical part, when students process their own project applications.
  • Project writing and grant applications: defining the project, creating a realistic project plan, working with risks, financial aspects of project, evaluation and project termination.
  • Project management: the basics of managerial communication with a focus on project team management, project cycle, work with time, conflict resolution.

Teaching methods
A theoretical introduction followed by practically oriented learning using experiential learning techniques such as teamwork in groups, discussion, solution of model situations. Part of the course is to process your own project application.
