Course objectives
The course builds on the knowledge from the bachelor degree and improves the skills and abilities of students in quantitative insight to political science. Students will learn about tools and techniques of statistical analysis applicable in their studies as well as in their own research.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to understand basic statistics tools and methods and realize their own quantitative research. They will learn to work with statistical software SPSS and to perform operations for data analysis (crosstabs, correlation, regression analysis).

  • 1. Introduction, basic features of quantitative methods, terminology 2. Introduction to SPSS 3.-4. Operations with data and descriptive statistics 5.-6. Crosstabs 7. Correlation 8.-9. Linear regression 10.-11. Logistic regression.
