Course prerequisites: min. 20 ECTS, consent of the instructor based on an interview about motivation to join the self-experience group and capacity. Enrolment in the course: learners apply for enrolment through an exemption request via IS MUNI. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is self-knowledge, personal growth and development, working in and with interactions. To deepen the understanding of oneself and others, one's own personal prerequisites for the profession, the importance of the knowledge and skills acquired through study.
- Learning outcomes
- The competences in question are the increase of the ability to apply the theories of the field in the performance of the profession; the strengthening of the strength of one's own subjectivity, genuineness, empathy; the strengthening of the perception of the boundaries of professional and personal life, strengths and weaknesses; the development of awareness of the importance of one's own opinions, attitudes, values crucial for the performance of the profession.
- Syllabus
- The course is initiated by students who, after registering for the course, submit an application for consent to enrol via IS MUNI, thereby also enrolling for a personal individual interview (about 0.5 hours) about their motivation to take the course. Students will bring a text (300 ± 30 words) to the interview answering the question "Why do I want to take the self-experience group?". Selected students will be given permission to enroll. By enrolling in the course, students agree to abide by the rules customary in the professional helping professions environment, especially confidentiality.

- Teaching methods
- The course is taught in blocks of once every 2 weeks of 2 + 2 class periods, with 50 minutes per class period. The course consists of group meetings during the semester with discussion of topics raised by the participants concerning various aspects of the study, work and personal life of the trainees. The group leaders place these topics in the context of the educational and working process of the trainees in particular. During the group work, the aim is to strengthen personal and professional identity through a direct insight into oneself, the insight of others and of others, gaining and/or deepening orientation in interactions. Techniques used - free association, discussion, feedback, reflection, interpretation, corrective experience. Students are excused for absence from class in advance, by email to the instructor.
- Assessment methods
- The course is successfully completed after completing at least 20 of the 24 teaching hours and 2 + 2 credit hours (compulsory). In addition, after the preparation of a diary (seminar paper) after each block of lessons as a free text of at least 300 ± 30 words with thoughts, feelings, impressions, observations, etc. and saving it within 7 days in the IS MUNI. Students write the diary even when absent. Furthermore, after writing a final essay based on the experience of the events in the group, the diaries and also the literature, and presenting it at the credit meeting. The deadline for essay submission is the Monday preceding the credit block. The required length of the final essay is 3000 ±300 words. The structure of the thesis is posted in the IS MU.
