- The course is aimed at foreign undergraduate students wishing to acquire basic knowledge and skills in French through English. The students will have completed the course CJVF001 French for Beginners.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to master the basics of the French language. The level of knowledge achieved in the course according to the Common European Framework of Reference corresponds to level A1. Emphasis is placed on the active use of the basics of French and on the development of the ability to communicate in basic everyday situations.

- 1. Talking about one’s habits: Describing one’s morning and evening routine; Telling the time
- 2. Finding accommodation: Understanding a housing ad; Responding to a housing ad; Requesting information and scheduling a visit;Preparing for the visit
- 3. Talking about one’s health: Naming body parts; Reporting on one’s health condition; Understanding a prescription; Giving advice
- 4. Talking about one’s family situation: Providing one’s marital status; Describing family relationships; Describing an event; Congratulating and supporting
- 5. Proposing an outing: Inviting someone to an outing; Accepting or declining an invitation
- 6. Buying a ticket: Understanding and giving instructions (for a flight, for buying a ticket); Understanding and talking about the weather

- Assessment methods
- Final test based on the content of the course. In order to pass, the student must obtain at least 60% from the test. It is possible to earn bonus points by successfully completing assignments in Duolingo.
