Course objectives
The course aims to introduce students to the specific management of the protected area of the Kosteliska Bird Park. During the excursion, students will receive information from the park managers about the origin and management of the area, the occurrence of common and rare species of birds, reptiles and amphibians and other fauna and flora in the context of specific habitats. Commented observation of (mainly) aquatic birds is planned (depending on weather conditions).
Learning outcomes
The students will learn about the operation of a specific private nature reserve directly in the field. Via the guided ornithological observation, they will also learn the basic distinguishing features of typical waterbird species.
