Course objectives
The course acquaints students of the bachelor studies with the basic background and most important points of the Jewish-Arab and Israeli-Palestine conflict from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. On successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand the complex issue of the Jewish-Arab and Israeli-Palestine conflict in detail, in particular to explain the dawn of the conflict; to identify particular phases of the conflict; to interpret the peace process of the 1990s and to characterize current situation. Last but not least, students will get an opportunity to further develop their analytical skills.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand the complex issue of the Jewish-Arab and Israeli-Palestine conflict in detail, in particular to explain the dawn of the conflict; to identify particular phases of the conflict; to interpret the peace process of the 1990s and to characterize current situation. Last but not least, students will get an opportunity to further develop their analytical skills.

Teaching methods
The course is taught as both lectures and seminars. Class includes documentary movies followed by a discussion. Regular attendance and active participation is expected. Readings serve to broaden and deepen the spectrum of knowledge students acquire during lectures.
Assessment methods
The course ends with a written exam. The requirements for the completion of the course are:
- active participation on classes
- the completion of the first written exam which is necessary for the following exam
- final exam and the elaboration of an essay
