- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to familiarize students with changes in Czech legal protectorate journalism and mechanisms for its control by the Protectorate and Occupational Authorities. Secondary subject follows the theme of political, administrative, economic and cultural development of the Protectorate since its establishment over the period 1939-1941, I. and II. heydrichium, the era of Franco's depolitization strategy until the end of the years 1944-1945. The subject focuses on the press measures of the protectorate and occupation authorities and the censorship practice in this period, on the structure of control of the press, and on the form of censorship. The subject focuses on the issue of journalistic activism and the process of key journalistic activists, as well as on the tactics of collaborating journalists conformist. Transformations of Protectorate Journalism are demonstrated on the shifts in the reflection of the war and the war adversaries of Germany, foreign policy, internal political development, the reflection of national identity, the relationship between Czechs, Germans and resistance, but also the optics of anti-Semitic rhetoric on the pages of the Protectorate Press.
