- Course objectives
- Understand different approaches to spatial sound technique. To be able to prepare the technique, record and do basic post-production in the context of spatial sound.
- Learning outcomes (in Czech)
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- understand theoretically the different forms of spatial audio;
- identify specific approaches to sound design of spatial audio;
- make a technically quality sound recording of spatial audio;
- work in a DAW and selected dedicated free software with spatial audio;
- make informed decisions in the sound design of spatial audio;
- be able to export audio according to the needs of the target media/distribution;
- describe the capabilities of spatial audio in sound capture and sound design. - Syllabus (in Czech)
- 1st block
- Introduction to the subject and tools, theoretical introduction to spatial audio.
- Block 2
- Sound capture for spatial audio.
- Block 3
- Edit a sound design in a DAW/dedicated free software for spatial audio. Exporting projects, final evaluation. The date of the block teaching will be updated soon.
- Teaching methods (in Czech)
- Seminar, joint sound recording, individual work on PC/Mac and individual project consultation and joint discussion.
- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- 100% participation, ongoing work, active participation, completion of all sub-tasks: recording, post-production and export of spatial audio.
