Course objectives
The theme of the course are studies of reproduction of human population, where special concern is given to the particularities of Czech population. The first part of the course offers introduction to the field and description of the structure of the population of the country. The interpretation deals with structures according to age, sex, then it it continues with information on stratification of population from the perspective of social classes, professional and educational structure, religion and ethnicity. The second part of the course is oriented predominantly towards such phenomena as fertility, mortality and nuptiality. It then continues to analyse abortion and divorce problems, questions of migration and population theories. The final session deals with population development worldwide.
