- Course objectives
- The object of the course is to characterize communism in the Czech Republic. Its traditions, the structure of communist and post-communist political spectrum and the forms of the impact of communist subjects will be described and analysed. Attention will be paid to problems of the relationships between society and communism, anticommunism and legal aspects of communism in the Czech Republic.

- 1. Introduction into the study of communism in the Czech Republic 2. Definition of communism 3. History of communism in Czech lands 1918-1948 4. History of communism in Czech lands 1948-1989 5. Development of the KSČ and the KSČM after 1989 6. Programmatic, strategy, structure, membership and electorate of the KSČM 7. Organisations cooperating with the KSČM 8. Orthodox-communist stream 9. Trockism, anarchocommunism and maoism in the Czech republic 10. Post-communist subjects in the Czech Republic 11. Communism in the Czech republic in European comparative perspective 12. Anticommunism in the Czech Republic 13. Esseys (discussion and evaluation)

- Rozpis literatury obdrží studenti/studentky na začátku semestru.
- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Výuka probíhá formou přenášek a seminářů. Ke získání zápočtu je třeba získat alespoň 24 bodů z 36 možných, přičemž hodnocení jednotlivých výstupů je následující (uváděny jsou maximální možné hodnoty): Referát v délce asi 10 minut: 12 bodů. Seminární práce v rozsahu asi 10 normostran: 12 bodů. Aktivní účast na seminářích: 12 bodů. Referát na zadané téma přednese student/studentka v určeném semináři. Poté totéž téma zpracuje ve formě seminární práce, která musí být odevzdána nejpozději do 13.5.2003. Musí být vytišetěná na papíře. Témata referátů a seminárních prací budou oznámena na začátku semestru.
