- Course objectives
- During the course the students should acquire detailed knowledge of the character of the Czech party system as evolved after 1989. The period will be divided into basic stages within which the developments of particular parties nad movements and the system as such will be treated as well. The course also concentrates on the analysis of the general character of the Czech party system and on the characterization of individual parties and movements.

- 1) Introduction, theoretical division between the right and the left, situation before November 1989, development till June 1990 2) Civic Forum (OF) 3) Parties outside OF till February 1991 4) From the dissolution of OF till June 1992 - governmental coalition 5) From the dissolution of OF till June 1992 - other parties and movements 6) The right in 1992-1996 7) The left and the centre in 1992-1996 8) Shifts in the relations within the system till the general election in June 1998, strengthening of the posilování bipolar character of the system 9) Present state (from general election 1998 until now) 10) Development of the internal party organisation, general characteristics of the system in its respective stages 11) Final test

- Pro úspěšné absolvování kursu je zapotřebí aktivní účasti na seminářích (minimální akceptovatelná účast je 70 %) a sepsání seminární práce na téma související se zaměřením kursu (rozsah max. 10 normostran, tj. 18 000 znaků, s povolenou odchylkou 15 %).
