Course objectives
This course is intended as a overview of the main fields of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and counterproliferation. Main objective of the course is to explain theories of WMD-proliferation, typology of WMD and their spread and instruments of counterproliferation.Students should be able to analyze forms and impact of proliferation and counterproliferation.

  • 1. Introduiction into study of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. 2. Definition of proliferation of WMD 3. General policy against proliferation of WMD 4. Proliferation of nuclear and radiological weapons 5. Policy against proliferation of nuclear and radiological weapons 6. Proliferation of chemical weapons 7. Assessment methods
Each week: lectures, class discussions (including students presentations) Students will receive a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components: 25% Position papers 25% Presentation and seminary thesis; 50% Final written exam. Grading: 56-60: A 51-55: B 46-50: C 41-45: D 36-40: E 35-0: F.
