Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- analyze conflict situation from the intrapsychic, interindividual and intergroup perspective
- apply some of the methods of conflict resolution in which they act as a third person (a therapist)
- process constructively a conflict between a client and themselves in the position of a psychotherapist
- reflect their own approach to conflicts and strategy of resolution, and also the resulting limitations

  • 1. Conflict, its meaning, ways of resolution, reflection of one's own experience; conflict on intrapsychic, interpersonal and intergroup level
  • 2. Methods of working with intrapsychic conflict
  • 3. Methods of working with dyadic conflict
  • 4. Processing a conflict between client and therapist
  • 5. Intractable conflicts, domestic violence

Teaching methods
Lectures, experiential exercises, reflection of one's own life experience, training in methods of conflict resolution, discussion, case reports.
Assessment methods
Final exam (written test), semestral paper. Active participation in lectures and seminars is required.
