- Course objectives
- The goal of the course is to introduce students into the relatively new paradigm in psychology which is called also as a narrative turn or silent revolution in psychology. Role of narrative in the process of meaning making will be emphasized. Narrative nature of culture, narrative modus thinking as equal to logical approach are background of this paradigman. Students will be able to identify psychologically relevant characteristics of stories . Some classical psychological concepts are explained in narrative perspective: memory, self, development in order to be used in therapy (narrative therapy) and in research (narrative research). Approaches and principles of narrative therapy and narrative research are the practical implementation. Profit for students: a) basics of narrative approach to understanding of psyche and individual life acquirement, b) elementary skills of using story approach in therapy and research.
