Course objectives
Learning output at the end of the course. Students should be able: to understand principles of statistical techniques; to choose statistical technique that is appropriate to analysed social indicator; to assess and interpret results of statistical analysis.
Syllabus
  • Official statistics. Structure of data matrix. Cross sectional data, time series, and pooled data. Data graphing. Singular index. Decomposition of singular index. Aggregate indices. Time series: measures of centrality and measures of dynamics. Decomposition of time series. Seasonal adjusting.
