- Course objectives
- This stylistics workshop teaches students to identify the stylistic choices used to manipulative ends – especially when writing texts for the print media (sometimes for the electronic media as well). At the end of the seminar students will have a basic grounding in this field, i.e. the ability to define and competently classify the particular type of manipulation (false argumentation) involved on the basis of knowing the basic raft of arguments involved (rhetorical figures). Conditions for award of credit: active participation, successfully completing workshop exercises, passing final written test.
