Course objectives
At the end of the course students will obtain and practice methods of applied field research in the concrete locality.
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain various theories of the Man-Landscape relationship and to create the output of their field research project. Students should be able to understand contemporary artistic and aesthetic attitude towards nature, based for all on principles of contemporary landscaping and land-art, or contemporary visual art.
Syllabus
  • Banát (A): Introductory meeting, theory of cultural adaptation. Research on documents and dokumentaries on the topic of Banat. Field research. Working on the research report. Final reflection. Středohoří (Czech mountain range "Central Mountains") Introductory meeting, introduction in contemprorary attitude towards nature in the artistic context wit an accent on erth works, land art. Field research, reflections connectted with ontemporary art and its attitude towards nature and landscape. Individual work. Conclusion, discussions

Teaching methods
The course is taught as an research excursion to the Banat region in Romania which is inhabited by the Czech ethnic minority or in the Czech mountain range "Central Mountains" (České Středohoří).
Assessment methods
