- Course objectives
- At the end of the course the students will be able to identify the main traditions, arguments, and figures in the 20th century political philosophy. Furthermore, the students will be able to analyze, compare, and critically assess the main contributions to the most important debates in the field of political philosophy. Students will also be able to synthesize particular philosophical positions and independently construct arguments regarding current phenomena such as democracy, human rights, globalization, and global poverty.

- (1) Three position papers (ca. 250 words each), 0-4 points each (2) Participation in either of two seminar classes (0-3 bonus points) (3) Final essay (20-25 standard pages), 0-18 points Students need to collect at least 18 points (60%) in order to pass AND to fulfill all three requirements Grading Scheme: A 30-28 points B 27-25 points C 24-22 points D 21-20 points E 19-18 points F 17 points and less
