Prerequisites
HEN910c Disertation Thesis Preparation
Successful completion of the first two years of doctoral study (HEN910 courses). The absolute minimum is gaining the credits of two research seminars (in case of a six-month foreign internship one credit is sufficient), the completion of HEN900 or HEN901 Current Issues of Environmental Humanities and the delivery of at least one scientific paper, at a conference or in print (i.e. HEN902a or b, or HEN903).

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to make the student elaborate the basic theses, the initial hypotheses, the methodology, and the first research findings of the dissertation and to train the skill to present the preliminary results to the scientific committee. The form of the dissertation thesis (either monograph or a set of articles / chapters) is to be decided during the examination session.
Learning outcomes
The student should be able to analyse the progress made in the given topic for the Czech and international professional public, he/she should be able to identify and describe the current trends in the research of the given subject. The student should be able to present the results of his/her current research clearly and in a well-structured manner and to propose further steps towards resolving the given problem in written and oral form and to defend this in discussion with experts.

Teaching methods
Individual consultations with the teacher and the supervisor or other experts; discussions with members of the Doctoral Board.
Assessment methods
Classified discussion of the dissertation project (documented by at least 3-5 pages of written text) in front of the Doctoral Board. The student must successfully defend his/her doctoral dissertation project both orally and in writing and should be able to respond to questions related to the topic of the thesis at a professional level.
