Course objectives
Current social science research emphasizes methodological soundness, which applies also to the research field of European studies. The course “Analysis and Methods of Research of European Politics” builds on the BA course “Methodology of Political Science and IR Research”. The objective of the course is to introduce students to concrete research methods and prepare them for writing academic texts. Students will familiarize themselves with the scholarly terminology and will understand logic of research. In addition to the research proposal and the conduct of research, students will get training on how to present outcomes of their research.

Teaching methods
The course is carried out by lectures and seminars where students present and discuss their ideas.
Assessment methods
Course requirements consist of completion of all tasks for individual seminars and of a presentation of a research proposal (10 to 15 standard pages).
